Ceramic Braces

Ceramic brackets offer a more cosmetic alternative option to conventional metal braces. Designed to blend in with your natural tooth colour, the brackets are bonded to the surface of your teeth with a composite resin for the duration of your treatment. Chemically they are a man made sapphire material and resist discoloration throughout your treatment.

Plus of ceramic braces:

• Ceramic brackets provide high quality, predictable results
• Cheaper than lingual appliance if appearance is a concern

Minus of ceramic braces:

• For patients with a deep bite, they may not be suitable to use on the lower arch
• The ‘o rings’that are used to hold the wire in place can gradually pick up some staining from certain foods (eg. turmeric and tomato based pasta sauces)
